HOW WE GOT HERE
Our Story
Bauer Flooring started back in 1912 with owner Brian’s great-grandfather, who began selling ceramic tile in Chicago. The trade was passed down through generations, from Brian’s grandfather to his father and eventually to Brian himself. After moving to Hawaii, Brian continued the family tradition by leaning into what works (and what doesn’t) in our island climate.
Before beginning Bauer Flooring in 2018, Brian managed 7,000+ military housing installs, gaining experience in complex project logistics and developing a deep understanding of the materials that hold up best in Hawaii’s humidity. By pairing his passion with craftsmanship, he shaped the philosophy the company is built upon today:

Based out of historic WWII-era bunker, our flooring showroom in Waipahu carries over 200,000 sq. ft. of flooring at any given time. This gives customers access to fast delivery, reliable availability and flooring products designed for island living. In other words, no waiting weeks for containers, no bait-and-switch and no deposits, just trustworthy service from a team that treats you like a neighbor.

Brian Bauer
Founder & Local Flooring Expert
Brian is a fourth-generation flooring professional with over 40 years of hands-on experience. He’s deeply respected across Oahu for his honesty, friendliness and down-to-earth approach to helping customers choose the right flooring for their homes. Between delivering materials, walking jobsites and doing in-home consultations, Brian brings the same care and attention to detail that’s guided his family’s business for over a century.
Customers appreciate Brian’s straightforward advice, his no-deposit policy and how he explains flooring in simple, practical terms. Business isn’t about high-pressure sales for him. He wants families to feel confident, informed and taken care of every step of the way.
